Did the Rams get the right guy?

The Colorado State football opening seemed to be a very desirable position. The school is investing in the program with a brand-new stadium, recruiting was solid under Mike Bobo and offense that has shown to be good. The one thing missing was an improved defense and a bit of direction to get them closer to the top of the Mountian Division.

National media said the job has potential to be really good and names floated about include former NFL and UCLA head coach Jim L. Mora, USC offensive coordinator Graham Harrell, former Ram and current Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford, Ohio State offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson and even current Hawaii coach Nick Rolovich.

There are other names that popped up as well and it is because Urban Meyer — former Rams assistant before he became a coaching juggernaut — was helping the search.

The hire ended up being former Boston College head coach Steve Adazio and there are now many stories from former players who did not like Adazio during his time at Boston College.

The two names that spoke out are former Heisman trophy finalist RB Andre Williams who said Adazio wouldn’t shake his hand after a game that Williams was honored at.

Then there is an even more wild story where Adazio basically blackballed Josh Keyes, a Boston College linebacker from 2011-2013 over liking and commenting on a Facebook post after he graduated. His story is detailed in the tweet below which everyone should read.

The short version is that Keyes was critical of Adazio and the coach did not like that one bit. Keyes was unable to get tickets as a former player or even put on a list as a friends and family list by current players. It as far as Adazio contacting the Atlanta Falcons to say he had character issues and get him cut.

This leads us back to the coaching search which Meyer was a part of which led to the Rams hiring Adazio and then adding his son and Meyer’s son-in-law.

Seems like Parker was doing whatever Meyer suggested and then Adazio brings in family and friends to coach.

To be fair, the two coaches being brought over have experience at the FBS level with his son, Louie Addazio, recently being the tight ends coach at Bowling Green. Meyer’s son-in-law, Corey Dennis, was the senior quality control analyst at Ohio State.

Louie will coach the quarterback and Dennis the offensive line.

Who knows, maybe these staff hirings with will work out great and Adazio is the guy to lead the Rams.

One final tweet to sum up this hiring from Spencer Hall from Banner Society.
