Jackson is off to the NFL.
Colorado State wide receiver Warren Jackson is off to the NFL. Due to the Mountain West season being postponed with the hopes being played in the spring, Jackson tweeted out it was time to just prepare for the NFL.
No one can blame him for doing what is best for his professional career because who knows what a Mountain West football season will look like in the spring if it happens at all.
Jackson took to Twitter to thank everyone from the Colorado State for his one season of play for the Rams.
“To my family, my teammates, coaches, staff, and the fans, thank you for the love and passion you have shown me during my time wearing the green and gold. It has been an hour to play alongside you, play for you, and represent our university over the years. I have grown so much as a man and as a football during my time in Fort Collins, and for that, I will forever be grateful.
“When I made the decision to return for my senior season. I did so believing that our football team was going to do something special in 2020 and have the opportunity to compete for a championship. I believed that then and I still believe that now. I know my teammates and I worked harder than ever this spring to be able to go out this fall and something special. Unfortunately, we were not able to get that chance. I still believe this team will do something special when they are able to compete again, but I have made the very tough decision to forgo my final year of eligibility and begin training for the 2021 NFL Draft.”

He also was our staff pick for preseason player of the year and will be missed for what could have been for the upcoming season in Fort Collins.

This is unfortunate for fans who wanted to see Jackson for one more season with the Rams and see what this team could have done, and too bad COVID-19 took that way from him and everyone who wanted to see an elite wide receiver suit up again for Colorado State.
