Colorado State – Air Force officials pleaded with Rams fans to stop throwing snowballs mid-game

It was a snowy game in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Fort Collins, Colorado offered nothing but freezing temperatures and snowy weather for Saturday’s college football matchup between No. 19 Air Force and Colorado State.

According to Weather.com, the projected high for Saturday was 28 degrees Fahrenheit and the low was 22. That’s a very, very cold football game, and the snow surely didn’t help, nicely dusting the field at Canvas Stadium.

The snow, however, did provide a little entertainment with game officials dealing Colorado State an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for throwing snowballs early in the third quarter.

“Unsportsmanlike conduct on the Colorado State bench. Will the audience please refrain from throwing snowballs? It will continue to cost Colorado State.”

As the CBS Sports Network broadcast noted, officials warned Rams fans in the first half to not throw snowballs at the Air Force bench.

That’s not a penalty you often see in college football, but a hilarious one at that.
