Social media oftentimes brings out the absolute best in people, and other times it brings out their worst. If you are a high-level athlete, you will always have those fans who are supportive, but you will also have those who never have anything positive to say.
That is where Colorado running back Sy’veon Wilkerson found himself this past weekend.
As Buffs fans eagerly want to see a consistent ground game, Wilkerson, a transfer from Jackson State, became the topic of conversation on X (formerly known as Twitter) this weekend. He quickly let the naysayers know that he isn’t in Boulder by accident and that he worked hard to get where he’s at now.
Yall be on hea saying anything. Nobody followed no hype Playing power 5 been my dream for a long time! I transferred from hbcu schools because I proved that with my talent I deserve to be at power 5 when none of these coaches wanted to recruit me in hs. https://t.co/Ie3Je9XOHU

Wilkerson and the Buffs will look to get back in the win column on Saturday night as they host the Oregon State Beavers.
