Prediction

Padres 6, Rockies 3

Moneyline (ML)

The Padres (-189) are heavy favorites vs. the Rockies (+170).

The Padres are 5-2 in their last seven home games against the Rockies and they’ve won each of Lamet’s last three starts. There isn’t much reward with picking the Padres, however, which is why I’ll PASS and look toward the run line.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Padres to win returns a profit of $5.29. A winning $10 bet on the Rockies profits $17.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

Here’s where you can win more money with slightly more risk. The PADRES are -1.5 (-106). I feel comfortable with the Padres covering the spread, especially with their most dominant pitcher on the mound.

Take the PADRES as they look to win their second straight game and start a winning streak.

Over/Under (O/U)

The O/U is 8.5 with -110 odds on each side. The total has gone Over in seven of the last 10 meetings between these teams, but it’s gone Under in four of the Padres’ last six this season.

Lamet should be good for six quality innings, while Freeland can be susceptible to giving up a bunch of runs – especially against a lineup like San Diego’s. I’m going with the OVER.
