Recruiting international players has been a priority so far in Deion Sanders’ early days as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes.
In about three months, the Buffs have signed a pair of London, England prospects in class of 2023 linebacker Kofi Taylor-Barrocks and Arkansas State transfer tight end Seydou Traore — both alumni of the NFL Academy in London. Coach Prime is now back for more as on Feb. 25, his staff offered another NFL Academy product, 2024 defensive end Emmanuel Okoye.
A Nigerian native, Okoye has also been offered by a slew of other Division I programs in recent weeks, including Tennessee, Ole Miss, Minnesota and Texas Tech.
Here’s what Okoye told American Football International writer Alex Malchow:
“I felt blessed to receive an offer from CU and to be recognized by great people who see my potential.”
“The NFL Academy has two phenomenal alumni in Kofi and Seydou at CU dominating at their positions and paving the way for other international students coming after them. They are making it easier for international players to be recognized.”
