The Colorado Buffaloes have struggled lately, ending its regular season on a 1-5 stretch. Still, postseason play is upon the No. 18 Buffs (21-8, 11-7 Pac-12), and a deep run in the Pac-12 women’s basketball tournament is likely needed to secure a home game in the NCAA Tournament.
On Wednesday, the fifth-seeded Buffs will face the 12th-seeded Oregon Ducks in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament.
The Ducks (11-20, 2-16) finished last in the Pac-12 standings and are currently riding a 13-game losing streak. The Ducks could present an opportunity for the Buffs to get back on track, as Colorado handled Oregon well in both regular season matchups. CU traveled to Eugene in January and walked away with a 61-48 win before beating the Ducks again in Boulder, 90-57, on Feb. 9.
That second game against the Ducks showcased just how powerful Colorado’s offense can be. The Buffs must recapture that offensive dominance in Las Vegas against Oregon to turn its season around.
Wednesday’s tipoff between the Buffs and Ducks is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT on the Pac-12 Network.
