Colorado can set its tone for the 2023 season in opener at TCU

Week 1 will allow Coach Prime’s #cubuffs to set their tone for 2023

College football fans across the country are chomping at the bit for the start of the 2023 season, but perhaps no fan base is filled with as much anticipation as the Colorado faithful. The hiring of Deion Sanders has completely changed the narrative around Buffs football and on Sept. 2, all eyes will be on Coach Prime as Colorado takes on last year’s College Football Playoff runner-up, TCU.

The Buffs have a unique opportunity in their season opener against the Horned Frogs to not only get off to a strong start under Sanders but to set the tone for the 2023 season and the program’s new era.

TCU had to replace a ton from last season’s remarkable run, but Colorado is basically an entirely different program compared to last year with new players, new coaches and a brand new identity as a program.

If Coach Prime, Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter and company can somehow, someway pull off the monumental upset of the Horned Frogs in Fort Worth, the entire trajectory of the 2023 season could be altered for the Buffs.

It may just be me, but I wouldn’t be too quick to dismiss CU after Week 1, though. Belief is important, and I’m not sure anyone has more belief in their process than Coach Prime.
