Texas A&M’s 2024 season may have ended at 8-4 amid Coach Mike Elko’s inaugural campaign, but the Aggies still have a chance to earn nine wins for the first time since the 2020 season with a win over USC (6-6) in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Set to face off against the Trojans on Friday, Dec. 27, Elko and his staff have continued their focus on adding talent from the transfer portal, looking to replenish the starting talent and depth lost to the portal and 2025 NFL Draft. However, USC is dealing with even more issues after losing two starting wide receivers and several defenders ahead of the game.
On Saturday, ESPN’s College GameDay predicted the winner of the notable bowl games outside of the College Football Playoff matchups this weekend, including Texas A&M vs. USC, and for the first time this season, as all four hosts, and former Ohio State/ Green Bay linebacker AJ Hawk picked the Aggies to win.
While some see this as a curse of sorts, Texas A&M’s roster, even at its current state, is more talented and battle-tested, while the Aggies are looking to remove the sour taste of losing to Texas in the season finale.
