ESPN’s “College GameDay” announced it will attend the Texas Longhorns versus Georgia Bulldogs game on conference championship Saturday.
No. 5 Georgia plays No. 2 Texas in the SEC championship in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Last year, GameDay set up at the Georgia World of Congress Center Building B, which is close to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
This year marks the 11th time that GameDay has attended an SEC championship. GameDay has been in town for four of the last six SEC championships.
GameDay previously attended the Texas-Georgia game in Austin, Texas, in October. Georgia beat Texas 30-15 in the Longhorns’ only loss of the season.
This will be GameDay’s 10th time attending a game with at least one SEC team this season, which is more than any other conference.
Last week, GameDay attended Texas at Texas A&M game, which Texas won 17-7 to advance to the SEC championship.
Other notable conference championship games include Penn State versus Oregon (Big Ten), Arizona State versus Iowa State (Big 12), Clemson versus SMU (ACC) and Boise State versus UNLV (Mountain West).
