College Football Playoff Top 25 Rankings Prediction: What Will Round 2 Be On Tuesday?

What will the 2020 College Football Playoff top 25 rankings be when the second round is released on Tuesday night?

College Football Playoff Rankings Prediction Top 10 Projection

10. Iowa State Cyclones 7-2

Last Week College Football Playoff Ranking: 12

The Case For This Spot: A key glitch in last week’s rankings will be fixed – Iowa State will move ahead of Oklahoma. The Cyclones beat the Sooners in early October, but for come reason were ranked two spots lower. The 23-20 win over Texas on the road will change that.

Up Next: West Virginia

9. Miami Hurricanes 7-1

Last Week College Football Playoff Ranking: 10

The Case For This Spot: It’s been a while since the team played, and there isn’t a good win to chirp about, but the only loss is at Clemson – that’s obviously okay. The schedule changes up a bit, and it’s a plus. The Wake Forest game was going to be canceled, but the Hurricanes will play Duke now.

Up Next: at Duke

8. Georgia Bulldogs 6-2

Last Week College Football Playoff Ranking: 9

The Case For This Spot: There’s an off-chance the committee loves what’s happening with the Bulldogs. The emergence of JT Daniels at quarterback, the 45-16 win over South Carolina, and the improvement of the team overall might be enough to think about for a higher spot than this. The two losses to Alabama and Florida – both away from home – are as acceptable as it gets.

Up Next: Vanderbilt

7. Cincinnati Bearcats 8-0

Last Week College Football Playoff Ranking: 7

The Case For This Spot: The great wins might not be there, but the committee isn’t going to change its mind all that much on the unbeaten and dominant Bearcats. There’s no chance to move into the top six, but they won’t be dropped behind a two-loss Georgia.

Up Next: at Tulsa

6. Ohio State Buckeyes 4-0

Last Week College Football Playoff Ranking: 4

The Case For This Spot: Considering it a lucky break to get this spot, and consider it a big misfire by the committee if the Buckeyes are higher. That doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t finish in the top four if they get healthy and win out, but for now, the one good win is over Indiana. The other three teams they played are a combined 4-13 and are certain to finish with losing seasons.
