College Football Playoff 2022: Game lines for semifinal matchups

No. 2 Michigan opens as a notable underdog against No. 3 Georgia.

The final College Football Playoff rankings arrived Sunday morning, officially setting the field of four who will play for the 2022 national title.

No. 1 Alabama will face No. 4 Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl Classic while No. 2 Michigan prepares to meet No. 3 Georgia at the Orange Bowl in Miami. The winners of both will advance to the championship game on Monday, January 10 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Only two teams from the first iteration of this season’s rankings made it to the final four. Michigan State and Oregon held on as long as possible, but couldn’t make it to the end. Ohio State’s failed title run paved the road for the Bearcats to make history as the first Group of Five program to reach the CFP semifinal.
