The latest College Football Playoff rankings came out Tuesday night and had the same five teams in the top five spots – Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson, Ohio State and Texas A&M in that order.
While all those selections made obvious sense, a few other top-10 picks didn’t sit well at all with college football fans.
The Florida Gators dropped one spot to No. 7 after they lost to unranked LSU last week. The Gators were 3-TD favorites to win that game but fell short at home thanks to some poor play and a thrown shoe. They will face Alabama in the SEC title game this weekend and chances are if they win that they will go to the playoffs.
Georgia is the other team that has fans upset. The Bulldogs, who are No. 8 in the rankings, are 5-2 and have losses to Alabama and Florida under their belts.
Twitter sounded off:
There is no way to justify Florida and Georgia's rankings. (Georgia's been an irrational top-10 pick this whole time; it's like the losses don't count at all.)

Iāve always defended the Power-5ās strength of schedule, but this year has gotten ridiculous. There are very few teams that have āgreatā resumes. Many are ok, some are good, some are incomplete. Cincy is legit. USC might be too. The rankings donāt reflect that and its a problem.

Committee in the @CFBPlayoff is no longer even subtle about their Power 5 Bias! Absolutely CORRUPT! @GatorsFB loses to a 3-5 LSU team at home and drops 1 spot! @GeorgiaFootball over rated since the jump, and @GoBearcatsFB keep dropping? Thereās no I repeat NOTHING but corruption!

Three two-loss teams ahead of Cincinnati and Coastal Carolina is a joke.
THESE three two-loss teams ahead of Cincinnati and Coastal Carolina is a crime.
– Iowa St: a loss by SEVENTEEN to G5 team
– Florida: a loss to an unranked, sub-.500 team
– Georgia: no wins over ranked team https://t.co/B66v4Ks28N— John Kirby (@john_kirby) December 16, 2020
Florida had to be ahead of Georgia because of the head to head.
Putting them at #7 is a joke.
Florida should be #9 and Georgia should be #10.

This entire season has been a sham, like many prior to it.

The fact that Florida only dropped one spot after losing at home to a 3 win LSU just shows how big of a joke the CFB committee is

Florida at #7 is absolutely laughable
