Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and the Tigers’ loss to South Carolina on Saturday was difficult for a few reasons.
First off, it most likely knocks Clemson out of a possible College Football Playoff spot. Second, South Carolina is one of Clemson’s biggest rivals.
Third, and perhaps most embarrassing, Swinney has now been caught flat-footed after throwing shade at Tennessee for virtually doing the same thing Clemson did on Saturday to the same team.
Swinney said Tuesday that the Vols didn’t look prepared during last Saturday’s South Carolina game and threw in a very pointed metaphor to describe their performance.
More Dabo on Tennessee: “They’re flipping burgers during the conference championship weekend, like are we going to Atlanta or Phoenix, and next thing you know you forget you gotta go play.”

Well, Tennessee fans might not have a College Football Playoff spot waiting on them, but they also don’t have short memories.
Let’s just say as Swinney ate his words with a side of dressing on Sunday, Tennessee devotees and other college football fans were ready with big platters of burgers and humble pie.
As they say, karma is a dish best served grilled (with a side of fries).
