Colin Cowherd: Joe Burrow, not Aaron Rodgers, is NFL MVP

Burrow over Rodgers for MVP?

Cincinnati Bengals fans have seen some up-and-down takes from Colin Cowherd over the years.

But they’re probably going to love the latest ahead of Super Bowl LVI.

Talking on “The Herd” before the big game, Cowherd said that Joe Burrow, not Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, is the MVP:

“To not give Joe Burrow most valuable player…the Bengals arguably have the fourth-best roster in the their division, they were picked fourth by virtually everybody. Think the Bengals would be in the Super Bowl without Joe Burrow?”

Cowherd argues that nobody — including Rodgers — views the Packers’ season as a success, especially after the touchdown-less playoff loss.

Granted, the crux of the argument is that the postseason needs to be taken into account.

But we’ve argued similarly — Burrow should be the MVP. And that was written on December 30, before the Bengals beat the Chiefs to win the AFC North, won the franchise’s first playoff games in 30-plus years and then won the AFC, getting the best of the Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium.
