Colin Cowherd dishes on UCLA-USC rivalry

Colin Cowherd had some thoughts on the game.

Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd becomes the latest sports personality to pick UCLA to cover a +4.5 point spread against USC this Saturday at the Rose Bowl in the first year of the Crosstown Showdown being a part of Big Ten play.

Unlike Inside College Football’s Randy Cross and Rick Neuheisel, who also picked the Bruins this week, Cowherd is not a UCLA alum and is just placing faith in DeShaun Foster’s team during his ‘Favorite Big Ten bet’ segment on The Herd.

“I’m going to take UCLA at home +4.5,” Cowherd said on Thursday’s edition of his Fox Sports show ‘The Herd’. “As an underdog, I think it’s pretty tasty here. USC has lost four of five games.”

Cowherd predicted a 27-24 game without directly predicting a winner. USC had lost four of five before their win last week over Nebraska, the win brought their record to 5-5 on the season.

“USC doesn’t beat anybody big, their games are always close,” Cowherd added. “UCLA two of their last three games has held opponents down. They had a bad one against Washington but I think it’s low scoring.”

It’ll be the first matchup for Foster as a head coach against the Trojans’ head coach Lincoln Riley. USC holds the all-time advantage over the Bruins with a career record of 50-34-7 but UCLA has come out on top in two of the past three years.
