All signs are pointing to Cody Williams becoming a star in a Colorado men’s basketball uniform. Since announcing his commitment to the Buffaloes, the five-star forward has been piling up accolades and now the NBA hype is increasing.
Jeff Zillgitt of USA TODAY Sports compiled his latest 2024 NBA mock draft on Monday, and Williams landed as the No. 6 overall pick. If that comes to fruition, Williams would become the highest-drafted Buff since Chauncey Billups was drafted third overall in 1993. The 6-foot-8 forward has Buffaloes fans excited for what could come in his first and potentially only college season, but NBA fans need to start learning his name as well.
While it’s still early, Williams could be an essential piece to an NBA team looking to rebuild. Could we see Williams team up with Victor Wembanyama in San Antonio? Or could he be a part of the entertaining core that Houston is assembling? We’ll see.
