Former Tar Heels have been showing out lately in the NBA with posterizing dunks and breakout performances. Adding to that list is Chicago Bulls [autotag]Coby White[/autotag], who continues to show glimpses of leaping to the next level.
In the Bulls’ 124-118 win over New Orleans, White was instrumental, leading all scorers with 31 points. He also led Chicago in rebounds with nine on the night while still finding the open target, dropping six assists in the process.
It is not surprising to see White shine when given the opportunity, especially given the struggling woes that have haunted Chicago this season. As they look to create a trade market for their star Zach LaVine, they will continue to count on White to have performances like this to keep up in the Eastern Conference.

This was Whites’s first 30-point performance since back in February of 2022, where the Tar Heel knocked in six threes to beat the Kings 125-118. It’s been interesting to see how White has been used since signing an extension this offseason. It’s quite clear he is in Chicago’s plans, and if he can deliver more performances like this, then his number should only be called more.
