Coby White, Bulls don’t agree to extension prior to deadline

The four-year guard will hit restricted free agency next summer.

The contract extension deadline for rookie-scale players came and went on Monday with a number of deals getting done.

For Coby White and the Bulls, that was not the case.

White and the organization did not come to terms on an extension, setting him up for restricted free agency next summer.

Going back to last season and this past summer, the four-year guard was subject to trade rumors, though a deal was never made. During training camp, White didn’t seem worried about playing on an expiring contract, saying that he was ‘looking at it as another season.’

With a strong, healthy season off the bench for Billy Donovan, White should be able to increase his value heading into next offseason.
