Coastal Carolina LB Josaiah Stewart has USC in his top 3

Coastal Carolina LB Josaiah Stewart, who could give Alex Grinch a significant pass-rushing presence, has the #USC Trojans in his final three.

The USC Trojans are already hard at work to add talent to their roster for the 2023 season and beyond.

With the Cotton Bowl against Tulane coming up in a few weeks, the transfer portal is blossoming and the Trojans are a popular option among players.

One player who has the Trojans in his top three is Coastal Carolina LB Josaiah Stewart. He posted a tweet on Monday morning announcing his three schools, and the other two are Michigan and LSU.

With the Trojans’ defensive struggles coming to light toward the end of the year, they could definitely use more talent on that side of the ball, and Stewart would be an important get for defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, who knows he needs to produce substantial improvements in 2023 and prevent the rough ride USC endured on his side of the ball in the second half of the 2022 season.

In 2022, Stewart had 37 tackles with 3.5 sacks and one fumble while being an absolute force for the Chanticleers’ defense, so whichever program lands him will be getting an immediate impact player.

Stewart was also a first-team All-Sun Belt defense selection. He has been receiving plenty of interest on the portal, as displayed by the three powerhouses he is considering.

Stewart can play linebacker or defensive end, and there are a lot of things he can do with the Trojans if he decides to come to Southern California.

Stewart’s decision should come soon, so we will keep an eye out and see if he decides to join Lincoln Riley.
