Aside from Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders’ viral interactions with reporters at CU’s 71st fall sports media day, it was clear that Coach Prime is happy with his new players and staff.
Since the beginning of fall training camp, coaches and players have shared their excitement for the upcoming season. Sanders, who wasn’t shy about criticizing certain Colorado players’ lack of passion last season, confirmed that the overall difference is felt through and through.
“I feel so much better about the team,” Sanders said Friday, “not only because of the young men we’ve accumulated inside this locker room but also the staff.”
Whether praising new defensive coordinator Robert Livingston and other coaches or discussing his pride in his team holding one of the highest semester GPAs in program history, Sanders kept reiterating that the Buffs have better players, better coaches and, perhaps most importantly, better humans.
When his sons Shilo and Shedeur took the stand at media day shortly after, the safety and starting quarterback, respectively, kept the same energy. Shedeur talked about his comfortability with offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur while Shilo claimed CU’s secondary will be a “no-fly zone.”
