With the NFL playoffs kicking off this past weekend, everyone, including Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders, is watching.
However, Coach Prime isn’t necessarily watching as a fan. He’s also looking for “professional” candidates as he continues looking for Colorado’s next defensive coordinator.
In a YouTube video posted by Well Off Media on Sunday, Sanders stood in front of his players and discussed his ongoing search for Charles Kelly’s replacement.
Here’s what Coach Prime had to say:
“I could easily choose a coordinator for you. But instead of being hasty, I would rather be right, because you deserve it,” Sanders told his team. “You got to understand the NFL is just getting over and there are still some teams in the playoffs. So, not only are we trying to get you a pro, but we’re trying to get you a professional, either from college or from the NFL. But we’re trying to do it right, because defense you deserve that. And we’re going to get it right for you.”
While this doesn’t necessarily mean Sanders will go the NFL route with his decision, it certainly shows his optimism for the 2024 Buffs. For now, though, Colorado’s fanbase is eager to know who will be calling the shots for what should be an upgraded Buffaloes defense next fall.
