Coach Prime heaps praise on rising two-way player Isaiah Hardge

Emerging two-way player Isaiah Hardge is another reason to be excited about next season

With Travis Hunter set to enter the NFL draft, head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have another talented two-way player waiting in the wings.

In the Buffs’ regular season finale last week, cornerback/wide receiver Isaiah Hardge was one of three Colorado players who saw snaps on both sides of the ball, joining Hunter and offensive/defensive lineman Tyler Brown. Hardge showed off his receiving abilities midway through the second quarter when he hauled a 39-yard pass from quarterback Shedeur Sanders to set Colorado’s offense up at Oklahoma State’s 10-yard line.

“This kid is unbelievable,” Coach Prime said of Hardge. “This kid works hard every day, makes great grades, never late. You don’t have to call him twice for nothing. He remembers his assignments. He has assignments offensively, defensively, as well as special teams. He don’t miss. We put a package in for him to be at running back… He’s phenomenal and he’s always smiling. He loves the game, and those are the kind of young men we like to recruit.”

One week after recording a 43-yard kickoff return against Kansas, the redshirt freshman also tallied two carries for eight yards and had a 17-yard punt return in the Buffs’ 52-0 win.

Defensively, Hardge closed the regular season with four total tackles in 10 games played.
