Clippers working on trade package to offer Sixers for James Harden

The Los Angeles Clippers are looking to bolster their trade package to offer the Philadelphia 76ers for James Harden.

The Philadelphia 76ers are preparing for the 2023-24 season under the guidance of new coach Nick Nurse. The Sixers are looking to finally get over the hump in the Eastern Conference and chase a championship.

They are also working through the James Harden saga. The future Hall of Famer requested a trade on June 30. He opted into his $35.6 million player option for the season to facilitate a trade with his eyes set on the Los Angeles Clippers.

Harden skipped media day as well as the first day of training camp at Colorado State University. He attended camp on both Wednesday and Thursday, and he has been a complete professional. He hasn’t caused any problems or distractions, but it appears he would still like to be moved to the Clippers. According to a report, LA is looking to bolster its trade package.

A clear of his professional approach seems to be that desire that he still has to get traded and in hopes of what he wants which is a trade to the Clippers and sources tell me that the Clippers have been offering one unprotected first-round pick and a pick swap to Philadelphia for Harden. And the Clippers I’m told they’re also in talks elsewhere with multiple other teams about moving pick swaps for additional draft capital to bolster their proposal to the Sixers. In their mind, the Sixers have also been valuing Terance Mann, the 5th-year forward as well as multiple first-round draft picks in any potential Harden deal from the Clippers. So there’s still a gap that remains.

At the moment, Harden is a member of the Sixers. If he were to change his mind about a trade, Philadelphia would keep this core group in an effort to remain in contention.
