Clippers Montrezl Harrell leaves NBA bubble for family medical emergency

Los Angeles Clippers center and 6th Man of the Year contender Montrezl Harrell has left the Clippers for a family emergency.

Los Angeles Clippers center Montrezl Harrell became the latest player to leave the NBA Bubble due to a family medical emergency, joining New Orleans Pelicans rookie forward Zion Williamson as the second player to leave the NBA’s Disney World Campus due to a family circumstance, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

According to the NBA’s protocol, players who are gone for less than a week will need to quarantine upon return for at least four days. If they are gone for more than a week, their quarantine upon return could be as many as 14 days. It’s very possible that Harrell’s family emergency could keep him out of the NBA’s Restart opener against the Lakers.

The NBA will likely be investigating the circumstances of the family medical emergency, as they are with Williamson’s situation, to make sure that they know exactly how to handle those player’s returns. Nevertheless, we hope that everything works out for the best for Harrell and Williamson’s respective families.
