Cleveland’s games, his hair bounced off his shoulders and drew attention. The Cavs and Travers are hoping his game does the same in the future. “I think it’s really good just having this opportunity to just see him up close, watch how he plays, get familiar with him, get to know him,” Cavs assistant coach and summer-league head coach Mike Gerrity said of Travers. “I think all those things are key moving forward, for the time that he does come back to us. I remember our time with Cedi (Osman), and we got to know him first, and then he came back later on, and he was ready to play. But I think just being able to familiarize with his game and seeing how he can be used and seeing how he can help this team. He’s shown it with his versatility how he can impact the game.”
