The 2021 NFL Draft will kick off in downtown Cleveland in almost exactly one year. The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission announced on Tuesday that the 86th edition of the annual draft extravaganza will take place from April 29th through May 1st in Cleveland.
The president of the GCSC, David Gilbert, revealed the dates in a press release. Gilbert stated,
“We, along with our partners at the NFL, the Cleveland Browns and the City of Cleveland, are steadfast in our commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all spectators and participants. We’re working tirelessly to make this the best Draft event yet – for the NFL and its fans as well as for the Cleveland community.”
The NFL previously announced the draft would be in Cleveland. The 2020 edition in Las Vegas went sideways due to the coronavirus pandemic. During the draft, the NFL did promise the 2022 draft to Las Vegas as a make-good gesture.
