Clemson tight end Jake Briningstool had an impressive spring game as a rising sophomore and now has high praise for starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei.
Finishing the spring game with seven receptions for 58 yards, the 6-foot-6 Briningstool has confidence in Uiagalelei, who he believes will be the best quarterback in college football next season.
Uiagalelei heads into the 2022 season as the team’s starter, but with last season’s struggles, freshman Cade Klubnik could challenge him for the starting spot. Meanwhile, Briningstool caught three passes for 67 yards and one touchdown last season and could blossom into a starting-caliber tight end alongside Davis Allen.
