Clemson leads Virginia 17-10 at halftime as the Tigers struggle with inconsistency

Clemson will look to bounce back in the second half.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers lead the Virginia Cavaliers 17-10 at the end of the first half, as Clemson struggled with inconsistency and penalty issues.

Outside of a couple drives, Clemson’s defense has done a solid job against the Cavaliers. They held them to three points in the red zone which was huge, and their lone touchdown allowed was the result of a terrible interception from starting quarterback Cade Klubnik, setting up the Cavaliers for an easy score.

On offense, Phil Mafah has done the scoring for the Tigers. Mafah scored on a 1-yard touchdown run and a 3-yard touchdown run, taking 12 carries for 55 yards and the two scores in the first half.

Klubnik and the passing offense haven’t been their best against the Cavaliers. The junior ended the half 11-16 with 130 yards and the interception mentioned.

Clemson will look to turn things around in the second half.
