Clemson football player arrested

Defensive lineman Caden Story was arrested Sunday on misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession.

Clemson defensive end Caden Story was arrested Sunday on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana, according to Pickens County Court public records. The Clemson Insider reported the news Tuesday.

Story was found to be in possession of 28 grams (one ounce) or less of marijuana. It was his first offense.

Per Clemson Insider’s Gavin Oliver:

At the moment, Story will not be suspended immediately from all athletic activities since he wasn’t arrested or criminally charged with any felonies.

Story was a four-star recruit out of Lanett High School (Ala.) near the Alabama-Georgia border in the class of 2022. As a redshirt freshman last season, he appeared in 10 games and recorded one tackle.

Story is the third Clemson player to be charged with a criminal offense this year. In February, defensive tackle DeMonte Capehart was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm on university property. The charge was dismissed.

Also in February, wide receiver Noble Johnson was charged with reckless driving resulting in an automobile accident. His case is still ongoing.
