Clemson drops out of AP Top 25 poll

Clemson is no longer a Top 25 team after having some first-half issues against Charleston Southern on Saturday.

Clemson has dropped out of the Associated Press Top 25 poll after just two weeks into the 2023 season.

Despite defeating Charleston Southern 66-17 on Saturday, the Tigers dropped from No. 25 to No. 26.

Clemson entered the season ranked No. 9, but with the Week 1 loss to Duke, as well as some first-half struggles against Charleston Southern Saturday, the Tigers will have to earn their spot among the other top teams across the country.

Luckily for head coach Dabo Swinney and his team, No. 3 Florida State will come to Death Valley on Sept. 23. If Clemson can defeat FAU on Saturday and upset the Seminoles the following week, it will fly up the rankings.

There are now four ACC teams in the Top 25: Florida State, Duke, Miami and North Carolina.

Other noticeable changes in the AP Poll include Texas’ jump to No. 4 after the Longhorns defeated Alabama, which dropped to No. 10. Meanwhile, Colorado is up to No. 18 after defeating Nebraska.
