Clemson defensive lineman out for season after surgery

Clemson has lost another player for the remainder of the 2023 season.

Clemson’s depth at defensive tackle just took a hit.

Freshman defensive tackle Vic Burley is out for the season after undergoing surgery, head coach Dabo Swinney announced on his weekly radio show on Monday.

Burley has been out since fall camp after he suffered a knee injury. The previous hope was that he would be able to return sometime in the first half of the season.

A former four-star recruit, Burley was the No. 9 defensive lineman prospect in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Burley is the second Clemson player that is out for the year alongside wide receiver Cole Turner, who Swinney announced tore three adductor muscles in his hip area against FAU.
