Classic Larry Bird postgame interview vs. the New Jersey Nets in 1988

This classic regular season game saw both teams displaying grit to secure a win.

In an intense and closely contested matchup, the Boston Celtics edged the (then) New Jersey (now, Brooklyn) Nets, 106-105, on March 28, 1988. Both teams displayed plenty of grit in the regular-season classic.

From the beginning, the game was neck-and-neck. Larry Bird had an impressive performance, leading the Celtics with 28 points.

As the final seconds ticked away, the Celtics were up by one. The Nets had possession and an opportunity to win. However, a crucial defensive stop by the Celtics preserved their narrow lead, and they emerged victorious.

In a classic encounter between two rivals, the Celtics’ win solidified their position in the playoff race, while the Nets were left with the bitter taste of a narrow defeat.
