Austin Ramsey is starting to grow into one of the top offensive line prospects in the region, the class of 2023 offensive tackle out of Roman Catholic (Philadelphia, PA) already has five FBS offers with more on the way.

This past weekend, Ramsey took an unofficial visit to Pittsburgh. He saw the Panthers improve to 5-1 with a win over Clemson and was impressed with the visit.

“It was really amazing, the players played a physical game and earned the ‘W’ and the fans were really hospitable and everyone was really nice,” Ramsey told ‘Rutgers Wire’ about his visit to the ACC program. “Pitt looks like a great program.”

Two Big Ten programs are also in the mix for Ramsey, who doesn’t have any favorites yet and says that all of the programs are recruiting him equally hard at this point. He is a powerful offensive tackle at 6-foot-7 and 350 pounds. He claims a 300-pound bench press and a 550-pound squat.

Penn State (an offer) and Rutgers (the Scarlet Knights have yet to offer) are among the programs that Ramsey hears from consistently. Boston College, Illinois, Kentucky and Pittsburgh have all offered in addition to Temple.

The Nittany Lions certainly have made a solid impression on Ramsey. He called them a “Great program and incredible fanbase” adding that “the location is good too.”

“Penn State got a great student section and fan base and the coaches mention how thrilling and suspenseful those home games are like the white-out game versus Auburn,” Ramsey said.

“And I plan on visiting soon I just have some Saturday games sometimes.”

Rutgers, while not offering yet, has done well from the Philadelphia area the past year including landing La Salle running back Samuel Brown, a four-star recruit.

“I went to a game and the atmosphere and the fans and the coaching staff were amazing and Rutgers seems really cool,” Ramsey said.
