With the first play on Houston’s opening drive Saturday against the Colts, rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and the Texans opened with fireworks and quickly put points on the board.
On the road against Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium, the Texans trailed 3-0 when they started their first drive. Holding onto the first snap from their own 25-yard line, Stroud had solid protection as he looked downfield before launching a deep pass to receiver Nico Collins.
Collins made the catch around the 20-yard line and ran it in for a stunning 75-yard touchdown, giving Houston the lead. One play, nine seconds, 75 yards.
Just look at this throw from Stroud:
It took @CJ7STROUD only one play. 75-yard TD to @lbg_nico7! #WeAreTexans
