Over the summer, second overall pick and Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud brought up Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow multiple times in a notable way.
And fast forward to now, Stroud has elaborated on that relationship.
Appearing on Pat McAfee’s show, Stroud revealed that Burrow played something of a mentor role to him over the summer.
“Really the whole time I was hanging with Joe Burrow. He gave me a lot of great feedback, a lot of great advice. For him being a former Buckeye and going to LSU to being the first pick in the draft, he understands right where I’m at right now.”
It’s a fun note, if nothing else, especially because Stroud is currently enjoying a breakout rookie season for the Texans with six touchdowns and no interceptions. Burrow and Stroud will face off in Week 10 on November 12 in Cincinnati.
