The Heisman Memorial Trophy presentation will take place Saturday.
Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett IV, TCU quarterback Max Duggan, Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud and USC quarterback Caleb Williams have been named Heisman Trophy finalists.
Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker is not a finalist, but finished fifth in Heisman Trophy voting.
Hooker’s collegiate career ended Nov. 19 at South Carolina.
The 6-foot-4, 218-pound quarterback suffered a season-ending injury versus the Gamecocks with a torn ACL in his left knee.
Stroud discussed Hooker ahead of Saturday’s Heisman Trophy presentation.
“I am a big fan of Hendon,” Stroud said. “We were on the plane back from our away game and I saw what happened. It hurt me, honestly. It’s the worst thing in football, is injuries. I definitely was a big fan of Hendon and I still am.
“I think he will do great things in his career, hoping he has a safe recovery through his process. He was an amazing player and he definitely has a right to be up here with us. I am definitely a huge fan of Hendon.”
