Tari Eason, who entered this year’s transfer portal as one of the more notable players, announced he will be joining Will Wade’s basketball program at LSU.
Wade has been looking for a veteran transfer who can come in and immediately contribute, and landing the freshman forward was exactly what he needed.
During his freshman season at Cincinnati, Eason was selected to the AAC All-Freshman team averaging 7.3 points and 5.9 rebounds a game, but much of his impact came on the defensive end.
Eason averaged 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals per game, and his dominant 6-foot-8 frame could help the Tigers in their half-court defense.

This is the second transfer from the portal who will be joining the Tiger roster following Missouri former guard Xavier Pinson. Both transfers are much-needed after having lost the majority of veterans on the former 2020 roster.
Specifically, LSU recently lost two elite defenders in Aundre Hyatt and Jalen Cook, so Eason should come in as a solid replacement.
“We’ve got some really good guys in the program, they just basically played behind four All-SEC guys so they couldn’t do as much this season. But we’ve got very talented players and we need to supplement it with experience.”
