Christian McCaffrey already one of the best fantasy football players ever -PFF

Carolina’s superstar running back is still one of the game’s most talented athletes and he only recently turned 25 years old.

Christian McCaffrey might have missed most of the 2020 season due to a variety of injuries. That’s no reason to give up on him in fantasy football, though. Carolina’s superstar running back is still one of the game’s most talented athletes and he only recently turned 25 years old. In other words, there should still be a lot of great football left in him.

The nerds seem to agree. Pro Football Focus recently made the case for McCaffrey to be the consensus overall RB1 in fantasy this year. They included this bit about No. 22 already being among the greatest PPR performers of all time.

“Overall, McCaffrey actually averaged more PPR points per game in 2020 (30.1) than he did in 2019 (29.5). Those campaigns rank third and sixth in terms of the highest-scoring single-season performances from any running back in NFL history (minimum three games).

So, what should McCaffrey’s fantasy owners expect if he returns to form this coming season?

For what it’s worth, PFF is projecting he’ll post 1,219.2 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground, plus 71.7 catches, 534.3 yards and 2.9 scores as a receiver. That comes out to 324.3 points – good enough for first in fantasy scoring among all non-quarterbacks according to their projections.
