Christian Kirk: Cardinals ‘have all the pieces’ to make playoff run

Cardinals WR Christian Kirk believes the Cardinals have the talent and the mindset to have a great year in 2021.

The Arizona Cardinals just missed the postseason last season after starting the season 6-3. They have big expectations for the coming season and some feel it is, in a way, a make-or-break season for the team’s leadership.

They have added key veterans like J.J. Watt, Rodney Hudson, A.J. Green and Malcolm Butler. They play in a tough NFC West but they believe they have what it takes to win.

Receiver Christian Kirk showed how much confidence the team has when he appeared on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football. The team has high hopes.

“It think it’s now or never for us,” he said on the show, via the official team site. That’s the attitude in the locker room.

“I think we finally feel like we have all the pieces to put it together and really make a push for the playoffs and for a championship. I know guys in the locker room aren’t expecting anything less than that.”

One can make the argument that the team doesn’t really have any holes in their lineup.

They understand there must be improvement.

“We know what opportunity we have at hand and we know we have to be better,” he said, “but if you look at it some Coach Kingsbury has been there, we have gotten better every year. Now is the year.

They have the talent. They also have the right attitude and have been working hard.

“We’ve got a young group of core guys that have been through all the ups and downs. We know the opportunity is here and we have to rise to the occasion. We have the right guys and the right leadership to do it.”

Is this the year they finally put it together?

That is what we all hope.
