With the No. 22 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans have multiple needs to address, one of which is along the defensive line.
One prospect who has become a favorite of our staff is Alabama defensive tackle Christian Barmore, a prospect NFL.com’s Cynthia Frelund believes would be a win-now pick for Tennessee.
His ability to stop the run and pass are the best at the position in the FBS, and his results steadily improved from season’s start to finish. In his final two collegiate games, he had 12 pressures and eight stops (per PFF), which is even more impressive, considering his opponents were Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Of course, Tennessee’s No. 1 priority is to add edge rushers this offseason, but the Titans might be able to wait on that need and take an interior defensive lineman like Barmore if they can address it in free agency.

Our own Shaun Calderon recently did a full breakdown of the 6-foot-5, 310-pound lineman. Here’s a snippet of what he had to say about Barmore:
The Alabama defensive tackle is a monstrous looking player from head to toe. He has extremely long levers for arms which helps him beat linemen to the punch when used correctly.
In spurts, he shows ridiculously exciting flashes of explosiveness off the line for someone his size. When he couples his explosive burst together with well-placed hands, Barmore puts together some extremely impressive reps as football fans everywhere saw first hand throughout his entire playoff run just a few months ago.
While Barmore’s flashes of explosiveness are undoubtedly eye-popping for his size, his most consistent assets are his power and pass-rushing moves.
Pairing Barmore with Jeffery Simmons would be an ideal route to take. If the Titans decide to pass on defensive line or Barmore simply isn’t available in that spot, Washington’s Levi Onwuzurike would be a great target in Round 2.
