Chris Weidman shares video from his hospital bed, says he’s looking for silver lining in brutal injury

An emotional Chris Weidman provided an update from his hospital bed.

Chris Weidman’s fight with Uriah Hall at UFC 261 Saturday night in Jacksonville came to a very sudden, scary and painful end when he broke his leg while kicking Hall just 17 seconds into the first round of their bout.

Weidman, who got a nice message from Anderson Silva, who suffered the same injury in a fight with Weidman years ago, had successful surgery on his leg but remains hospitalized in Florida.

The former middleweight champ shared a video that he took from his hospital bed at 3:30 a.m. on Monday morning and in it he thanked his fans for their support, provided a timetable for when he might be able to start training again, and said that he’s trying to find a positive out of this.
