We have chronicled it many times: when Chris Webber calls an NBA game, his name trends on Twitter for all the wrong reasons as fans complain.
He was on the mic for Game 4 of the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers, and there was one particular moment that had fans scratching their heads.
He was talking about using the word “aggressive” for the Blazers while they trailed the Lakers by a lot, and then added, “It’s almost like how the Smurfs use the word ‘smurf.’ It could mean a million different things.”
I get what he’s saying here, but also: don’t the Smurfs just replace actual words with the word “smurf” and you can get it from context clues what they’re talking about? As in, “Chris Webber said some extremely smurfy things and everyone was confused?”
