It’s safe to say that the Irish running back room is loaded even with Kyren Williams leaving to the NFL. Notre Dame returns three quality backs, Logan Diggs, Audric Estime and Chris Tyree.
As the “old’ back in the room, Tyree has shown to be a game-breaker, not only on offense but on special teams as well. There is one thing that he doesn’t want you to forget however, that he still can play a major role for the Irish in 2022.
Although it does look like Diggs will the the starter replacing Williams, all three should get plenty of opportunities to carry the rock. Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees’ job this spring will be to figure out ways for each of them to get their share of touches. Just don’t count out Tyree, who enters his third year, and as you can see below, he does’t want you to.
