Chris Jones calls his shot, Part 3: Chiefs will be in Super Bowl LVII

#Chiefs DT Chris Jones has a knack for making postseason predictions a year in advance.

Kansas City Chiefs DT Chris Jones is a Super Bowl champion, a First-Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler. There’s another title he can add to his resume: Clairvoyant.

If you’ve been paying attention, Jones has made a habit out of predicting the Chiefs’ postseason successes a year in advance. After the Chiefs lost to the Tennessee Titans in the first round of the 2017 playoffs, Jones tweeted out the following during the championship round:

“Chiefs we will be here next year. ‘Save this tweet’”

Sure enough, the Chiefs went on to play in the AFC title game against the New England Patriots the following season. When they lost that game, Jones took to Twitter again during the Super Bowl to make another prediction.

“We will win it next year.”

What did Kansas City go on to do the following year? They defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.

After last season’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game, Jones took things personally. He didn’t perform to his standard and spent the entire offseason working to correct that. Of course, he had to make a prediction during Super Bowl LVI between the Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams.

Well, here we are a year later. Jones has officially manifested a Super Bowl berth. Some might say, he’s simply getting access to the NFL script early. The reality is, he called his shot. Jones and his teammates dedicated themselves to getting back to the Super Bowl and they did just that.

Now, some might be concerned that Jones didn’t say the Chiefs will win it as he did with Super Bowl LIV, but we can only hope that Jones’ powers aren’t entirely literal.
