The debate rages on as to who the Tennessee Titans should sign to be their quarterback in 2020.
On one side, you have those who believe the Titans should re-sign Ryan Tannehill, and on the other there are those that want Tennessee to sign Tom Brady if he decides to leave the New England Patriots in free agency.
Former Titans running back Chris Johnson is apparently a fan of the team doing the latter, as he told TMZ Sports in a recent interview.
“Everybody knows Tom is the GOAT,” Johnson said. “If we can get Tom over there and play a couple years before he retires, you know I definitely wouldn’t be against that.”
Johnson even said he might have to give Brady a call to help the cause.
“I might have to call him. If he wanna come, I might have to call him and say, ‘Aye, we need to make this move!'”
The longer we go without hearing about the Titans re-signing or franchise tagging Tannehill, the more the rumors and speculation will heat up about Brady coming to Nashville.
Of course, the delay in locking Tannehill up might have to do with the quarterback asking for a hefty payday that the Titans aren’t willing to agree to, but on the flip side of that it’s also possible the Titans are waiting for Brady to become available.
Impending free agents like Brady and Tannehill can start negotiating with other teams on March 16 and can officially sign contracts on March 18.
Until then, we wait…
