Alright, so the NBA Finals isn’t over yet. But, uh, it seems to be pretty much over.
The Lakers have pushed themselves to fairly comfortable double digit leads in both games 1 and 2 so far and on top of that the Miami Heat are missing two key starters in Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic right now.
You absolutely never want to count the Miami Heat out — this series isn’t over quite yet. But it also hasn’t looked competitive at all, either.
Most of that is because of the sheer dominance of LeBron James and Anthony Davis so far. The two have been unstoppable on both ends of the court.
So much so that, if they both keep their current pace, it’s going to be extremely hard to choose between one or the other for Finals MVP.
Anthony Davis has been flatout perfect. It’s unclear if he’s actually missed a shot yet in this series. His field goal percentage says he has, but I swear I haven’t seen it yet.
He’s shooting a blistering 63% from the floor so far in the Finals. He’s also one of three players in NBA history to score at least 32 points, grab 14 rebounds and shoot at least 75% from the field in an NBA Finals game.
The others are Shaquille O’Neal and Larry Bird. Hall of Famers.
32 points, 14 rebounds, 75% FG in the #NBAFinals:

He’s also one of four players to score 30 or more points in their first two NBA Finals games. Kevin Durant was the last player to do it.
Anthony Davis is the first @Lakers player to post 30+ points in their first two career NBA Finals games. Only four players have ever done this in NBA history:

And then, we get to LeBron James who is, well, being LeBron James. He’s been unstoppable. He had another near triple double in game two with 33 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and not a single turnover.
He joins Magic Johnson as the only player in Finals history to score at least 20 points with 9 assists and not register a turnover.
LeBron James had a special game: 33 points, 9 assists, ZERO turnovers. The last & only player in NBA Finals history to have at least 20 points & 9 assists with zero turnovers is Magic Johnson (1987, Game 1–29 points, 13 assists, 0 turnovers). Don't take LeBron James for granted. pic.twitter.com/rj12JJvuyZ

Just flat out ridiculous. The series isn’t over, but it will be soon if those numbers keep up. We’ve still got two games to go.
And if they do? Good luck choosing between those two at this point, fam. They’re out there balling. No other way to put it.
