#Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman said his surgery was a success and sent thanks to fans for the well wishes.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman shared that he underwent surgery for a core muscle injury on Tuesday.

Hardman was in Philadelphia for surgery with Dr. William Meyers, who is one of the world-renowned specialists in the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of core muscle injuries. Later that evening after the surgery, Hardman reported back to the public that his surgery was successful.

“Surgery was a success,” Hardman wrote on Twitter. “I appreciate everyone who said a prayer! This definitely will be a full recovery.”

Hardman suffered this injury in Week 8 against the Tennesse Titans and spent the majority of the year on injured reserve as a result. He return for the AFC Championship Game in the playoffs and aggravated the injury fighting for a first down during a key moment of the game.

The fourth-year wide receiver is slated for unrestricted free agency in March with his rookie contract set to expire. Getting the surgery out of the way now ensures that he’ll be on the road to recovery should he hit the open market.
