For the third consecutive season, the Kansas City Chiefs are wearing their red-on-red uniform combination for “Sunday Night Football.”
The Chiefs last wore red-on-red in a 22-16 win over the Denver Broncos during the 2020 NFL season. The year prior, they donned the popular uniform combination against the Indianapolis Colts. With another primetime game on Sunday night, Kansas City plans to wear the all-red look for the first time this season.
They teased the uniform combination with a little hype video on social media this afternoon. Check it out:

This will be the 12th time in franchise history that the team has worn red-on-red alternates. The Chiefs are 6-5 all-time while wearing red-on-red uniforms since they debuted the alternate style back in 2013. This is the first time the Chiefs have worn any alternate jersey in 2021. Teams are allowed by the NFL to wear alternate uniforms up to three times per year.
