The Kansas City Chiefs don’t have a whole lot of draft capital in the 2020 NFL Draft. In fact, the Chiefs are tied with the New Orleans Saints for the fewest total picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, with only five picks throughout the entire draft.
Here is a reminder of the Chiefs’ draft picks:
- Round 1: Pick No. 32
- Round 2: Pick No. 63
- Round 3: Pick No. 96
- Round 4: Pick No. 138
- Round 5: Pick No. 177
Kansas City doesn’t have sixth and seventh-round picks because of previous trades to acquire LB Darron Lee and S Jordan Lucas.
The only way for the team to acquire more draft capital is to make a trade with another team. Earlier we polled Chiefs fans if they thought Kansas City should make a trade on Day 1 of the 2020 NFL Draft. As of this article, 55% of voters believed that the Chiefs should trade down and potentially acquire more draft capital in a trade.
For potential trade scenarios, be sure to utilize our trade value chart in order to best calculate a fair trade between two teams. Some teams to consider in a potential trade down are Detroit Lions (35), New York Giants (36), Carolina Panthers (38), Miami Dolphins (39) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (42). All of those teams have adequate draft assets to compensate the Chiefs for pick No. 32.
